Woman with an almost smile

The woman with an almost smile

Is always

In search

Of her true

Identity

The essence

Of her being

That she isn’t

Supposed to know about.

The woman with an almost smile

Waits calmly

As time passes

By

In the other direction

During rush hour traffic

On the 405 freeway.

The woman with an almost smile

Lets all her colors show—

Tears her hair out

When frustrated

Cries her eyes out

When disappointed

Yells her head off

When angry

Sings her heart out

When happy.

The woman with an almost smile

Strives

To be the best

Person she can be

Caring

Giving

Affectionate

Dependable

Trustworthy

Hard-working.

The woman with an almost smile

Constantly scrutinizes

Her life

With every breath.

And with the same breath

Simultaneously

Allows herself,

To escape

The people

Places

Events

That cause

Her world

To spin

dizzily

Out of

Control.

The woman with an almost smile

Tries to please

Everyone–

Every time

For every occasion—

Except herself.

The woman with an almost smile

Is every

Grandmother

Mother

Aunt

Niece

Daughter

Sister

Who confronts

Herself

And all

Her inherent parts

That form

A unique

Woman

With an almost smile.
